A quick player review:
I have never done much larping, it simply didnt appeal to me much. I saw it as a bunch of people trying to pretend to be vampires and acting all mornful. Yet when I saw a zombie larp listed in the events at GenCon I figured I might as well give it a try, after all I have done True Dungeon every year. I was and still am amazed! It was the most fun I had all weekend! The scenery was not as impressive as TD but the feel was almost real! The tension truely mounts as you are desperately watching the exits you know about waiting for a zombie to crash through while trying to remain calm with the people trying to solve a puzzle! It was intense! You were not scared so much as anxious because you knew sooner or later the undead would be shambling towards you and when they did come all hell seemed to break loose. I have been to a few events where they use the foam weapons and set up battles but they did not even compare! The intensity is almost impossible to describe and afterwards I was worn out and elated. I will do this again, I will gladly pay to do this again! If you ever get the chance I strongly suggest you give it a try because it really rocks!

RISING is a live action game putting you into the heart of the zombie apocolypse. You are now part of the story line, where your decisions can change the entire plot, including the outcome. YOU can limber through lazers, kill abhorations of nature, and hopefully put an end to the world that you know now as ZOMBIES. YOU can actually help find an end to the distruction, or you may even become a part of it. You will be put to the test against all types of walking dead, a variety of interactive puzzles, and lots and lots of combat*. Ever think you have what it takes to survive? This is your chance to find out! Jump into you favorite Survival Horror game or Zombie Apocolypse movie and experience it for REAL.
*If you cannot physically take part in boffer combat, you may still participate in the game.Live action gaming or live action role playing (LARP) does not use a board, miniatures or dice to determine what happens in the game world. If you want your character to do something, you must actually do it! Want to attack that zombie horde shambling toward you? Well, pick up your safety checked boffer weapon and have at them. Want to try and disarm the computer lock that has you cornered in a room listening to the moans and wails of bloodthirsty undead? Get out your toolkit and start snipping wires. This makes live action games much more immersive than even the best table top or board game since you are actually experiencing the adventures that your character is undertaking.
